I love learning!

I’ve always enjoyed school.  However, I’m the daughter of an immigrant and personally know a lot of intelligent, capable people who haven’t had many opportunities to pursue formal education.  One of my favorite things about instructional design is the respect with which it regards learners from all walks of life

During ten years of working in the tech sector I saw how different learning solutions like certifications can help a wide variety of people enrich their lives.  Wanting to further explore my interests in technology, learning theory, and design, I went back to school as a non-traditional student and am now one of the first in my family to earn an advanced degree (Master’s of Science in Instructional Psychology and Technology, BYU, 2023).

I’m excited to use my academic training in learning theory, along with my design and tech skills, to create and improve learning solutions for all types of people because great learning experiences are for everyone.

Lifelong Learning

My enthusiasm for learning extends into my personal life.  My main hobbies are woodworking and tinkering in the kitchen, but I love learning all sorts of new things.  After wanting to try it for ages, I recently took a SCUBA diving course and am now PADI-certified!

French macarons are finicky, so it took many (many, many) attempts, but eventually I got the hang of baking them.  Salted caramel is my favorite filling.

When building things, I especially like using wood that has a unique grain.  I love the figure of this walnut that I used for this clock.

I like to try new recipes.  As a bonus for reading this far, here’s one of my current favorites–spicy Korean marinated avocados.  Try it over rice with a fried egg on top and thank me later!
